“When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.”

Daily Inspirations

Wisdom is the sharing of wise experiences and knowledge, but a lot of it is common sense. The difference is how we apply this common sense – we all have the ability to keep going even when we face challenges in our lives – basically it comes down to your attitude. We can have a positive attitude towards life, or a negative attitude. We can focus on the good or we can focus on the bad. Keeping a positive mental attitude is one of the keys to success. The choice is always up to you!

“In ages past, our old ones were the storytellers. This was the way things were passed along to the generations that followed. For this reason the aged people made it a point to remember every detail so they could relate it at a later time. They were the word and picture carriers making history and spirtual values alive and important. In recent times we have made our old ones think they are not so important. We spoof their stories and make them feel foolish. The truth is that we are ignorant of what is precious and how to ‘a da li he li tse di — appreciate age. Rigidity can creep in and set even the young mind if there are no soft memories, no laughter, no times too deep for tears. Age is grace — a time too valuable to waste.”

Respect for all forms of life, unfortunately, is not a common value in many cultures today. It is easier to respect someone stronger, faster, or richer. Likewise, it easy to respect someone who is much like us in every way possible. Respecting someone with different beliefs, different dress or different customs, or something entirely different from us is not easy. Human beings cannot understand another’s life until they have carried the weight of that person’s burdens, listened to that person’s words, felt that person’s pain, observed that person’s actions, and walked along that person’s path, sharing the others greatest longings and aspirations. Understanding those things we must then be able to sleep at that person’s fire, sharing every part of the other human being’s dreams and nightmares.”

“The wise individual looks and hears the unspoken signals that scream for the need to be recognized. The gentle and sensitive listener is adept at the art of creating safety and space for sharing that allows others to express their needs The sincere desire to deal fairly with others, to admit our shortcomings and to make amends where needed is the mark of a person worthy of trust.”

“Humor is one of the most powerful tools that the Creator has given human kind.”

What are “Inspirational Words”?

“Whenever we walk on the Earth, we should pay attention to what is going on. Too often our minds are somewhere else, thinking about the past or thinking about the future. When we do this, we are missing important lessons. The Earth is a constant flow of lessons and learnings which also include a constant flow of positive feelings. If we are aware as we walk, we will gather words for our lives, the lessons to help our children; we will gather feelings of interconnectedness and calmness. When we experience this, we should say or think thoughts of gratitude. When we do this, the next person to walk on the sacred path will benefit even more.”
“April is the color of jonquils, the fragrance of hyacinths, and the dewiness of violets. The sunlit
meadows are carpeted with tiny blue flowers, and along the ravines wild strawberries are as sweet and tart as April air. Now the colors are radiant and the very air is tinted the color of new leaves. A new aura outlines the distant hills and only human beings have to see and taste and stir themselves to new life. I love the land and the trees which cover it, the grass growing on it. We forget that while the earth sleeps, life goes on, growing, developing, spreading, until at the right moment it reveals itself in glorious colors and shapes.”
